William W.H. "Bill" Brown


Bill's extensive executive business management background spans a wide range of industries including hospitality, real estate, utilities, shipping, banking and insurance. His business consulting practice focuses on human resources strategies that make sense in the context of each client company's operating environment. His approach to mission-critical people issues and opportunities is innovative and flexible. From outsourcing opportunities to executive compensation plans, training curricula to executive coaching, union organizing defenses to alignment of internal and external brands, Bill's work with clients to develop human resource strategies from the inside out has created successful business relationships and improved bottom line results for Hawaii companies large and small.

Bill is a Senior Partner with Dawson Consulting Group and Manager of the Honolulu Office, as well as Principal of HR for Hire - a human resources consulting firm in Honolulu. Prior to Dawson Consulting Group, Bill held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Planning for Outrigger Enterprises, Inc. and has also been in other senior roles with Hawaiian Electric Industries and First Hawaiian Bank. He is an active member of the community supporting a number of State initiatives including participating on the Prepaid Healthcare Advisory Council and on the Selection Committee for the Department of Education. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and served as President of its local Chapter. Bill is also a member of the Hawaii Society of Corporate Planners, the Hawaii Business Health Council, the Human Resources Planning Society and serves on the Board of the Honolulu Zoo.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts and completed post graduate work at Pace University in New York. He earned his nationally recognized designation as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society for Human Resource Management, and a certificate in interest-based bargaining from the jointly sponsored program of Harvard Law School, MIT and Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

Bill Brown has three grown daughters and lives in Nuuanu on Oahu. He is an avid gardener, hiker and acoustic guitar player.
